Trip to Ipoh - 2

As we climbed further up the catwalk whilst looking down, can see the water flowing out of the cave in the stream below. Perhaps after heavy rain the volume of water would be greater. Now its just a shallow pool of water.

Took a closer shot of the marble looking-like walls of the cave. The write-out informed the visitor marble are form when limestone rocks are subjected to intense heat underground. It results in marble of different colors and textures. Stalactites and Stalagmites are also formed and often seen in such caverns.

There is an opening I noticed that leads out of the cave. The light from the outside casts a bluish tint lighting up a small part of the wall. The catwalk does not lead to the opening, just as well as it would probably be too dangerous for visitors to stand on the narrow ledge.

As I climbed even higher noticed there was this strange rock formation that looked like a hunch old man poised in mid-air. Some visitors from another group of Singaporeans commented it look like one of the Chinese fable character. Often linked to longevity, I believe it's "Shou", the other two are "Fu" and "Lu". We have a Fu Lu Shou complex near Bugis in Singapore. From the catwalk it looked as if the figure is hanging in mid-air. It's actually a single piece of rock that protrude out from the cave wall. The catwalk cleverly covered the portion linked to the wall giving the illusion it's hanging in mid-air. Stay tune for more interesting photos...
