Singapore Garden Festival 2018 - 4

The second part of the Garden Festival was held at the Flower Dome where there was this "Orchid Extravaganza" . It was a refreshing change from the outdoor part of the garden festival where I got to cool myself after walking around in the heat. As the name of this event suggest, there were indeed many different types of Orchids on display..120 to be exact. This replica of Peranakan shophouses plus a trishaw at the front porch complete with neatly arranged Orchid plants is rather interesting.  

So too were these colorfully beaded Peranakan styled footwear surrounded by beautiful Orchid plants. With over 14,000 Orchids, it's truly a delight for Orchids lovers. Even though I find it difficult to differentiate Orchids as there are so many species and hybrids, I do admire their beauty and colors. 










Not only are there many species of Orchids which I find difficult to identify, even their names are hard to remember :) ...such as "Phragmipedium", "Phalaenopsis" or "papilionanda.

For the price of one ticket I got to visit both the Garden Festival and the Flower Dome. All too soon the Garden Festival has concluded. Looked forward to the one in two years time :)
