Singapore Garden Festival 2018

The bi-annual Garden Festival an event I eagerly looked forward to is here again. As a senior citizen, got a discounted ticket for the festival which includes a visit to the "Flower Dome". There is a Orchid extravaganza at the Dome. If you are a Orchid lover, will definitely be dazzled by the array of Orchids on display. It's easy to get here by MRT, just alight at Bayfront station and follow the signages along the way. This pathway with the interesting wall mural will lead one to the Buggy ride waiting point for a five minute ride to the festival. It's free :)

A row of violet colored plants whose name I do not know is now blooming nicely to greet the visitors. I chose to come on a weekday to avoid the crowd. Arrived at around 1pm and boy it sure was humid. It's to be expected as we are situated in the tropics. Better to bring along a sunhat or umbrella with a bottle of water to dehydrate :) Incidentally, there is a "MarketPlace" where they sell various plants and all the equipment that you ever need for your garden. It's located to the left of this photo, I decided to visit it last as I wanted to reserve the energy for the flower festival. When in the senior citizen club, learning to prioritize is another life long lesson..heh heh

I chose to walk instead of taking the free buggy ride as there was a queue at the waiting point. For those with walking difficulties, I recommend to take the buggy ride.

For those who likes to walk, you be rewarded with these beautiful blooming flowers at the wooden bridge. Will update if I find out its name...

All to soon, I arrived at the archway entrance to the festival. The ticket collecting point is after the gate. The neat part is one can enter or re-enter to meet a friend. Just inform the staff and they put a mark on your hand for re-entry.
