Short trip to Penang - 3

Took a photo of this food cart that stood forlornly in one of the lane. Such street scenes were once quite common in the sixties in our country, but when development takes over, they probably too will be gone. In the meantime, on with the nostalgic magical walk :)

The hotel where we stayed is actually quite close to Komtar which is the tall building in the background. Its was already here when I visited Penang a few decades ago. With the such a prominent landmark we were not afraid of getting lost in the many streets and lanes.

It was a Monday and many of the shops like this one along the street were closed. The banner says it offered Penang white coffee. Have not tried this before as I am more familiar with Ipoh white coffee which are widely available in our super markets.

Passed by an alley, noticed this cat with black and white furs gazing at us. It was a bit apprehensive when I approached to take it's photo. Talked to it with an assuring voice an it calmed down and allowed me to photograph it. This one has got beautiful orange colored eyes :) After saying goodbye we were on  our way for more street photography...

  3. You ate the Penang Laksa at the foot of the temple? I like it that the Laksa is served in small porcelain bowls.

    1. Did not visit the temple but one of my friend who has been to Penang a couple of times, brought us to another coffee shop for Laksa :)
